Dietary assessment is costly, tedious, and contributes to study participant attrition... until now.
Diet ID provides a validated, one minute dietary assessment tool that delivers up to 150 different nutrient intake estimates and can drive the efficiency and accuracy of your study at a fraction of the cost.
Over 15 academic partners have used Diet ID to collect detailed, reliable information on dietary intake patterns, with several more expected by the end of 2021.
the problem
Food Frequency Questionnaires, 24 hour recalls, and 7 day food diaries are tedious for participants, often taking hours or days to complete, time consuming to analyze, often taking weeks to receive data, inaccurate, expensive, costing up to $80 per person, and not user friendly.
the solution
Diet ID has developed a bold advance in digital dietary assessments -- one that can be done in just a single minute, with results generated in real time. Our image-rich assessment is web-based so it’s easily distributed and can be used by diverse audiences. Our tool generates necessary data for nutrition research - nutrients, food group intake levels, and Healthy Eating Index quality scores. In addition, our HIPAA compliant system is secure and perfect for studies both large and small.
The value
A single evaluation using a Food Frequency Questionnaire can cost up to $80. Using Diet ID is a fraction of the cost, saves the participant time (boosting completion rates), and generates results in real time, saving the researcher time as well.
validation
Preliminary results from an ongoing study show Diet ID validation against the Food Frequency Questionnaire, seen here.
Diet ID was validated against the 24 hour recall. Read the abstract here.

How we implement it
Diet ID provides a custom, white-labeled web-based app for participants to use anywhere - in person or at home - to complete the dietary assessment. Results are generated in real time and available via a personalized admin reporting dashboard. We can launch in just a few days!
If assistance is needed with a grant application, we can also provide standard documentation about Diet ID.
How participants experience Diet ID
Our assessments can be completed on any device on any browser. Participants simply visit a custom link (which can be emailed or sent via text) and then complete the assessment on their own or on site. Each assessment takes only 2 minutes and can be used by even the least technologically savvy person.
How much it costs
Each client is different, so please reach out for a custom price quote. However, our packages can be as low as $1.00 per assessment (minimums apply).
